Sleek Garden Room

Our client required a full conversion from an 80’s built 4 bedroom house to a contemporary style 5 bed with a stunning kitchen / living / dining area.

The kitchen extension measuring 13m x 8m was constructed with highly energy efficient block work and along with the rest of the property, finished in a cool, white Silicon render. The orangery style roof of the kitchen extension was clad in composite decking with a glass balustrade to finish the newly formed roof terrace. The feature aluminium glazing included a huge 6m opening to the garden which slid effortlessly behind a hidden wall. Three flat ‘walk on’ roof lights allowed daylight to flood in and matching French doors to the first floor rooms tied all the glazing together. The kitchen was south facing, so to help control the solar gain, we designed and built a one metre overhang to act as a canopy; this was finished to the underside in western red cedar with accent lighting.

The main roof of the property was stripped and refinished in natural slate, all guttering was changed to a square section aluminium and powder coated to match the windows and feature doors.

The landscaping was designed by Chelsea Flower Show medallist, Second Nature Gardens. We added the final touches of automated security gates and wall railings, which were custom manufactured to our own design in powder coated steel and again finished in the same colour as the aluminium frames featured throughout the property.
